In a wealthy home, some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use.
No vessel is useless but not all can be used for certain purposes...
Just as some vessels were made of:
Gold
Silver
Wood
And clay
Just as a vessel made of clay can't be used for important functions nor that gold be handed over to children.
Neither would you place a wooden vessel over a silver vessel in terms of value. They all have their peculiarities and functions in the house.
A clay or wooden vessel would be more appreciated in a traditional setting than that gold or silver, but a gold vessel will bring more honor to its owner in a modern gathering.
A vessel with a person can be defined as A person thought of as being the receiver or repository of some spirit or influence.
A vessel can be defined as a person who has a particular quality or who is used for a particular purpose.
When a person is regarded as a vessel that means the person has a particular quality or enablement which can only be found in him
To tell us that there is a special type of vessel for every assignment and purpose
So also is God especially searching for a certain quality in each vessel.
It's not a matter of praying continually that God should use; the point is are you fit to be used?
Are you available to be used?
The vessels mentioned in the text were in the house not taken from outside.
They were readily available for use.
The relevance is not only dependent on the love God has for you; it's dependent on your sacrifice, the one that turns you into the version of you God is searching for.
God indeed loves us all but irrespective of that Love He isn't going to use just any vessel for His work/assignment.
You have to be fit for it.
And we only qualify through our sacrifices.
Sacrifice; is the price to pay to become what God wants.
Consecrated unto Him and His work
I feel it's important that we understand what it means for God to use someone.
When people testify of the hand of God on your life.
It means you have diligently stayed with God long enough that through you, His life is being replicated and visible for all to see.
That no one can doubt the result you get can only come from God.
The people testified of Daniel that his wisdom was that of the gods
In his absence, the queen's mother testified of the spirit of God dwelling in him.
This is a man with a track record of sacrifice with God till he became a channel through that God communicates to man.
Secondly what qualifies us to be used by God is a contrite and a broken heart.
A heart teachable
A heart ready to receive directly from Him
A heart ready to be corrected.
How is the state of your heart as a vessel?
