You can't keep doing things the old way and expect a new( different) result...
Change is portrayed by growth and for growth to be experienced the "old" mind has to give way.
Ever heard the story of an enslaved country whose leader fought tooth and nail for its independence yet its citizens would rather remain in slavery rather than go through the rigorous process of growth?
History has it that Israel migrated to Egypt as a family which later grew in population that their host: Egypt was terrified of their size.
The Egyptian government devised a plan to camp them and made them work as slaves in their country.
They were subjected to slavery, not due to the lack of strength but because they couldn't ascertain their strength.
They worked in plantations, factories, sites, etc.
They went to bed hungry with sore hands and feet.
Their taskmasters had no mercy
They went through untold hardship until their deliverer came and gained their independence after many failed attempts.
One would have thought that once the chains had fallen off then the autonomy was sure but at the first sight of challenge the Israelites preferred bondage, they choose the wiping of their captors and the "slave's food" to the responsibility of catering for themselves.
Because True freedom, innovation, growth, and progress are a product of a RENEWED MIND.
THE MIND
The mind is the bedrock of change and growth, the mirror is not the only object that showcases your reflection; your current state is a reflection of the state of your mind.
Think of your mind as a compartment filled with thoughts, feelings, subjective states, ideas, emotions, etc filled and kept safely.
THE RENEWED MIND
Israelites were a perfect example of the saying " you can take a person out of the village but you can't the village out of him except if he is willing." The deliverer of the Israelites took them out of Egypt but the Egyptian mindset was still in them.
It's better to pour water into a basket than to pour new wine into an old wineskin (bottle).
The ways and behavior of the stone age are different from the 21st century; once upon a time it was plausible to dress in leaves and animal skin but now if you are dressed like that, people would wonder if you are part of a movie cast.
Likewise our daily lives, there were things we did and partook in the past that were acceptable but now, there is a call for a regenerated mind, a renewed mind, an updated one...
The world is rapidly evolving in favor of technology, don't be left out of its advantages due to your argument of you love doing things with your hands.
Your character goes a long way in your relationship with people, there was some character that was tolerated due to your past state but age demands that you outgrow them and change. Each new phase of life demands a new level of growth in mindset.
Change is best achieved through a renewed mindset and a new wine is best preserved in a new wine skin.
