It's a well-known fact that the devil Is interested in whatever catches God's attention; an instance is God's unlimited love for mankind. Everything God created was created for the comfort and good of man most especially our body and emotions but the devil though knowing he is not a creator decided to deceive man to leave his fingerprints by using our bodies as a weapon against us through the act of masturbation.
Our reproductive organs are organs that we can't do without as we will need them later to fulfill God's reproduction mandate for our lives and also there's a recorded time which we will need it within the confines of marriage; that's why the issue of masturbation is vital to everyone most especially teenagers and youth.
Masturbation according to the dictionary is a common activity, which involves touching the genitals or other sensitive areas of the body for sexual arousal or pleasure.
In my last blog post, I spoke on addiction as it related to a careless decision that later resulted in a future disaster and enslavement; masturbation is of the many things people (most especially men) are addicted to. There's always a way almost everyone began to masturbate: it could be as a result of peer group influence and pressure, health challenges, environment, lust, or childhood trauma but the most common one is PORNOGRAPHY AND EROTIC IMAGES.
While interviewing my respondent on how he was able to overcome masturbation. In his words, he said " It always starts by the perpetual seeking of pleasure till you are possessed by it. When I determined to stop I prayed till I was too tired to do anything every night. That worked for a while till the demon (urge) started tormenting me even in the place of prayer; it then became a battle– I win some, I lose some. I noticed whenever the demon is getting the most of me its major weapon was my mobile phone which was internet enabled then I decided to pay a HUGE SACRIFICE– I EXCHANGED MY PHONE FOR A SMALLER ONE WITH NO INTERNET ACCESS AND SPACE FOR MOVIES, that marked the beginning of my victory and total freedom"
One thing to take note of and what I will like to dwell on was his sacrifice; what he paid in exchange for his freedom.
Masturbation is a form of enslavement though without physical chains and taskmasters but victims are known for their helplessness to this demon. It takes away their self-control and they are obliged to do its bidding. For a slave to gain his freedom from those or what held him captive he must be willing to give something in exchange for it.
For my respondent, It was his precious cell phone which this demon is using against him but for others, it may be leaving that agelong circle of friends who instigated the act in the first place, it might be to leave your vicinity or anything that lures you back to the act.
One thing is constant you have to let go of something to gain your freedom. Look within and around there is that thing or someone you have to let go of, your promises and remorse after the act alone are not enough to sustain your freedom, what do you have to sacrifice to gain it?
